At the opening ceremony of Garrard's first Beijing boutique in the Emperor Group Centre, Richard Burn, the UK's HM Trade Commissioner for China, and Luo Xuejuan, a famous Chinese swimmer and Olympic champion, were invited to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony held at Emperor Group Centre in Beijing. Ms. Luo Xuejuan said that Garrard witnessed her happiest moment, and this time she is also very honored to witness the important historical moment of the launching of Garrard first bespoke jewelry boutique in Beijing. At the opening ceremony, Yu Xiaonan, Chief Assistant to Chairman and General Manager, Strategic Investment of Emperor Group, was also invited to deliver a speech: "I am honored that Garrard has chosen the Emperor Group Centre. At the opening ceremony, Garrard exhibited a piece of 118.88-carat Burmese “Royal Blue” jewellery. The Garrard Jubilee Sapphire, weighing 118.88 carats, is remarkable in size, beauty and rarity. The extraordinary jewellery was exhibited at the opening ceremony of the new store for the purpose of paying tribute to this glorious history. Moreover, an unparalleled white-rose-shaped necklace was also on display. The center of the platinum pattern is embellished with a pear-shaped diamond, which is dismountable and can be used as a brooch, showing the versatility of Garrard jewellery.

Founded in 1735, Garrard is the oldest custom jeweller in the world with a long history of 280 years, and serving 108 royal families worldwide.
