From April 15-19, 2019, the five-day special event of the 9th Beijing International Film Festival and the Emperor Group Centre Creative Film Exhibition came to a successful end. 2019 marks the ninth year of the "Beijing Film Panorama" of Beijing International Film Festival. As one of the official cooperative cinemas of the 9th Beijing International Film Festival, the Emperor Cinemas at the Emperor Group Centre showed 14 out of 15 films from 20 countries and regions, which were shortlisted for the Tiantan Awards during the film festival. Among these films, The Waiter, Happier Times, GrumpandThe Keeperwere released for the first time in China; Half Worldhad its world premiere, attracting much attention during the panorama.

Adhering to the philosophy of "culture benefiting the people", the film panorama provides the optimized viewing experience, and meetsvaried needs of fans by showing the quality films. It is worth mentioning that among the films shown at the Emperor Group Centre,Lykke-Perwon the "Tiantan Award for Best Film"; Fear won the "Tiantan Award for Best Photography"; The Waiterwon the "Tiantan Award for Best Music"; three Chinese films —The Musician, The Wandering Earth, andThe Eleventh Chapter, which were shortlisted for the "Tiantan Award" — won three prizes, showing the new look of Chinese films in terms of film quality and theme, and manifesting the patriotism of Chinese filmmakers.

Built on the sound development of the film market, the 9th Beijing International Film Festival joined hands with the Emperor Group Centre to create a platform for exchanges and interactions among domestic and foreign well-known filmmakers, film industry practitioners and fans. In the meeting with major production teams, 40-plus domestic and international film production teams shortlisted for the "Tiantan Award" gathered in Beijing, shining on the red carpet. This served as a bridge between the film production teams and the audience, allowing them to share the stories behind the films. Among them, Aris Servetalis won the "Tiantan Award for Best Actor" for the filmThe Waiter; John Henshaw won the "Tiantan Award for Best Supporting Actor" for the filmThe Keeper; Forough Ghajabegli won the "Tiantan Award for Best Actress" for the filmTehran: City of Love; Hungarian director László Nemes won the "Tiantan Award for Best Director" for the filmSunset. At this moment, the Emperor Group Centre attracted the global attention, and China's movie dreams and national feelings continued to grow here.
